On possible optimization of road transport with respect to data on transport history

Abstract

In the context of the project we were dealing with: the development of methods and algorithms for solving the optimization problems that arise at organization of road transportation; the development of software and implementation of statistical data use on past traffic flow. We were researching with Highway hierarchies method; and with development of an application called Logistic calculator that facilitates selection of vehicles and route planning for transport planners in normal and emergency conditions. The mathematical model includes a set of vehicles with different parameters (speed, braking path, capacity ...), loading and unloading spots with their properties (equipment, loading and unloading speed, flow) and road network with its specifics. Taking into account all these factors we optimize time for transportation of given cargo.
