Abstract

Experimentation with biological systems produces sources of huge amounts of biological data. In order to make these heterogeneous data sources easy to use, several efforts on data representation and integration have been considered mainly based on XML. In this paper we present the main approaches proposed in literature and we discuss future research directions.
