Abstract

In this presentation we report the NIST-2004 “Common Evaluation” results for the Israel National Police/Bar-Ilan University site. We introduce a novel ‘channel’ vector, which describes the characteristic of the channel conveying the speech signal. Our system fuses linguistic and acoustical information, considering the type of channel involved in the recordings. In this fashion, the relative importance of distinct speech features are selectively weighted according to channel idiosyncrasies.
