Representations of graphs and maps.

Abstract

Several methods for representing (drawing) graphs are considered, which minimize different energies of representations. The idea of representations is generalized to maps. Some well-known operations on maps are defined, using a set of matrices. These matrices can also be used to obtain the representations of the derived maps from representations of original maps.
